Meet Your Master Forger, Jeremy

I’m Jeremy Ramsey, a blacksmith based in the mountains of NC, where my family has lived for eight generations. My wife and I own a 60-acre farm in Mars Hill, NC, a land rich in history, stories, and old tools. When we moved in, I discovered an abandoned coal forge and anvil left by the previous owners. Something about that forge called to me. Wanting to preserve its legacy, I took a blacksmithing class and never looked back.

What started as a spark of curiosity turned into a full-blown passion for blade making. And now I’m hosting hands-on blacksmithing workshops from the forge that have earned over 1700 five-star reviews on Airbnb. Whether you’re shaping steel for the first time or looking to connect with something ancient and real, there’s nothing quite like creating with fire and hammer.

My brand “Vikings Don’t Cry” was born from exploring my own ancestry. The Scottish Clan Ramsay traced back to William the Conqueror and Rollo the Viking. That history fuels the blades I make and the stories I share. I believe in giving new life to old metal—in turning scrap into something powerful, beautiful, and enduring. When you’re here at the forge, you’re not just making a blade. You’re making a memory, a story to tell, and maybe even discovering a part of yourself you didn’t know was there.
